Gallifrey - Geography

Overview

Gallifrey is home to a large colony of SeaPonies, who live in the coastal waters. Inland is a herd of Kirin, descendants of the warrior Kirin who left Prosperity Island long ages ago, but were ship wrecked in the waters near Gallifrey and, washing up on shore, found the island to be uninhabited and similar to their own home. Deciding to stay, they now pursue a peaceful existance in harmony with Nature, isolated from the rest of Azuyan.

Climate

Tropical mainly, except for the higher mountain areas which are more temperate in climate as you ascend. Temperatures are warm to hot throughout the year. Rainfall is concentrated in the Spring and Autumn seasons, with occasional hurricanes during the Summer/Autumn period possible, but this event usually only happens once per 5-6 years or so. Winters are warm and dry.

Vegetation

The main plants to be found along the shore and inland are:

• Palms and coconut palms.
• Fig, Aloe and Horseradish trees.
• Bottle brush.
• Evergreen pear.
