Beach Party Roleplay

Summary of Action.

Setting: Swirling Mist Isle is located in the Cerulean Sea, north of the First Isles. The island is surrounded in the most part by coral reefs and rocks except for the small entrance into Tranquility Harbour. Entrance into the Harbour requires good sailing or swimming skills to avoid the rocks and reefs. The main equine inhabitants are MerPonies. The Swirling Mist Isles territory is currently neutral. The village of Shell Sands hosts the Annual Summer Beach Party. This beach is where the bitten off tentacle of a giant squid was once found, which is a famous local legend. The temple of the Golden MerPony is also located just a little way east of the village.

Plot Outline: Every year the local inhabitants of the Swirling Mist Isle celebrate the summer and the beaches, which are rich in wildlife, shells and corals. Ponies from all over Azuyan are invited to the village of Shell Sands where the main festivities are held. As this island is neutral in the KORR/LSPP conflict, guests are requested not to bring their politics to the Party, but instead to enjoy the fun and games, explore the local area and visit the temple of the Golden MerPony.

Starting Point: The small village of Shell Sands on the Swirling Mist Isle. You will be exploring the village, finding a room at the Inn and making your way down to the Beach where the fancy dress party and general festivities are to be held. Once there you can explore the stalls and local area.

Characters:

	Ianthe: Rainbow-haired MerPony, food stall organiser and sister of Aphrodite who is currently away on the Nordic Isles. She is caring for Affy's two young sons Ophir and Jinhai, but she herself is unmarried. A very capable cook, she's hoping that some of her food will catch the palate of travelling merchants from other parts of Azuyan. Age 24 human years. SP: 1
	Matilda: Blue and white MerPony, talented jewellery maker and seller, owns Jewellery stall, great friend of Ianthe. Has a good brain for business. Age 24 human years. SP: 1
	Llyr: Blue MerPony with fade, Shell Sands Village Innkeeper, local storyteller and gossip. Age 40 human years. SP: 1
	Akhenaten: Blue, socked PhoenixPony, is head of the part-formed Ocean Legion on Hidden Mist Isle, acts as an undercover security watchman, keeps an eye out for any trouble. Age: 25 human years. SP: 20
	Chantal the local fancy dress supplier, owns the shop Escapades. Located in the village, she is very good at picking out costumes for customers who don't really know what to wear. Age: 23 human years. SP: 1

The Annual Beach party

The Annual Beach party was held on the Swirling Mist Isle for locals and visitors from all around Azuyan in order to celebrate summer and the beaches. Festivities were held in the village of Shell Sands beginning with a costume party held on the beach, where guests enjoyed sampling the local cuisine and dancing. Amongst the ponies was Sergeant Akhenaten, head Paladin of a forming Ocean Legion located on Hidden Mist, which is part of the SMIsles cluster. Akhenaten was acting as security guard for the party, and had an eye on visiting KORR spawn Virone who was on holiday.

A tour of the Temple of the Golden MerPony resulted in the small gold statue of the Golden MerPony being stolen by a Valkyrie named Kaladrin, from the Knomadt Isles. Akhenaten questioned the ponies suspecting Virone but was unable to ascertain who the thief was due to lack of proof. The Valkyrie Khorei, also from Knomadt, suspected it was Kaladrin, but would not tell Akhenaten out of loyalty to his herd. Kaladrin left the island unchecked with the statue in his cloak pocket. High Priestess Veronica forecast Doom for the island as the statue, imbued with magical powers known only to a few, had gone.

As a storm approached the island during the sandcastle contest, visitors were told to evacuate to the Safe Cave, located just off the beach. Akhenaten, Virone, Khorei, Druid Veronica and Novice Moonfire were amongst the ponies who escaped there. The waves sent out by Kei-Ahi caused tsunamis and a rock slide that blocked the cave entrance, trapping the ponies within. In a fit of rage, Virone realised that his father Lord KORR was in the grip of Khe-Ahi and it was she who was causing the destruction. Pledging his allegiance to LSPP, Virone was made a Paladin by Akhenaten.

Trying to find an alternative route out of the cave, the group came across the Titan Silzith in a deep pool who had been awakened by Kei-Ahi. Silzith killed one pony before Virone stunned him, helped by Akhenaten and Khorei, and the remaining group managed to pass by safely. Further down the caves Fire Slugs threatened the group, requiring Virone and Akhenaten to use their powers once again to allow the group to pass.

Emerging safely at last from the cave, the group witnessed the destroyed village of Shell Sands below, where the tsunamis had hit some days previously. Akhenaten finally discovered that Kaladrin had stolen the statue, and Khorei vowed to get it back. The entrance to Tranquility Harbour was blocked by coral debris and the Titan Silzith remained trapped within, unknown to the ponies of Swirling Mist.
