A delightful village located near the sandy beaches of Swirling Mist Isle. The coast is bordered by coral reefs. An annual Beach Party is held every summer, when the residents and visitors from all over Azuyan come to sample the local cuisine, and enjoy the summer sunshine and beach entertainment.

Recently the village was destroyed by the waves emanating from Hades Isles, during the Beach Party. Some of the coral was uprooted and the beach was littered with debris. All habitations above the ground were razed by the waves, and some of the local inhabitants were killed, along with some of the visitors. A party of MerPonies plus some of the visitors escaped into an underground cave system where they were safe from the effects of the waves. However whilst there they encountered an ancient beast, a Titan named Silzith.

The Temple of the Golden MerPony is located just near to Shell Sands village. The Temple is a little further back from the beach and made of golden stones. It was not harmed by the waves due to its more sheltered location, a hill rising up and protecting it from the waves. The temple also backs onto a rocky hillside, and there are entrances from the temple into the caves from there, which provided safety for the Temple priests in times of danger.

The village is currently being rebuilt by the surviving locals and help from the Ocean Legion located on neighbouring Hidden Mist Isle. LSPP Paladin Akhenaten heads the Legion and is supervising the rebuilding. The Temple provides food and shelter for homeless locals during the rebuilding. It is hoped that next summer the Beach Party will be run again, commencing with a memorial for those lost in the wave and storm.

The Safe Cave

Originally accessible from the beach of Shell Sands, the Safe Cave entrance is now blocked by a landfall. Access is now via a rear entrance in the hills above. The Cave has been declared a danger zone since the attack of the Titan Silzith occurred there.
